My primary language is English, and I minored [second specialization] in Spanish when I was in university. I am now learning French.
Spanish is important to Americans because Spanish is becoming a second language in many areas of the United States.
French is important because it is one of the major languages in Europe and, surprisingly enough, it is perhaps the most important single language in Africa. Much of Africa had been under both French and Belgian colonial rule, and French has supplanted many of the indigenous languages as a unifying language for many countries. Also, French is still spoken in many areas in Vietnam.

You don't seem to have a problem with English. I chose Spanish as my second language years ago as I learned most of it by living in Mexico. Will help you in the American job market because of the increasing hispanic population and since it is one of the "Romance" languages, knowing Spanish can help you with Italian, Latin and French. Not all that difficult to learn either as it is quite explicit and orderly when you get to conjugation and tenses.

Hi there! High university scholar, presently studying my 5th language. (English, French, Chinese, Spanish and Russian) Just to combine it up...I'd say opt for studying Chinese! It's my 3rd language and I recognize individuals SAY it is rough, however particularly it is not. What will get individuals stumped is the characters. But you'll be able to constantly be taught the ones final... I found out characters and pronunciations and all whilst...however you'll be able to constantly be taught most effective "PINYIN" that is the phonetic variation of Chinese. It's a laugh reason they do not conjugate verbs or use articles. :D Now, watching on the choices you've gotten offered, I'd say opt for German. You already research Russian and one of the most German grammar is very similar to Russian. So you would opt for up on it effortless. And additionally, on account that you are finding out French, I expect you already know French pronunciation -the German R is the equal because the French R. That's probably the most complicated elements of German to grasp, the R, so when you get that, you are greatly farther than such a lot individuals who be taught German. Italian is an overly, very first-class language. Saying you talk it is going to particularly galvanize individuals. Now, I do not know you are area of the US so I are not able to say if Italian is a predominant language to your field...that is wherein the main issue lies. You wanna take a language that is valuable. Now Czech. I have a pal (he is russian) who is father additionally talk Czech. Knowing Russian ought to aid studying Czech by some means if my peers dad whose first language is russian used to be in a position to opt for it up. Lastly, I could recommend going with Spanish as I noticed any one else recommend. It's very valuable for the US, you'll be able to get round effortless in Europe and it is sooooo effortless when you already talk french! I'm now not kidding while I say that French and Spanish are the equal particular languages, simply with exclusive pronunciations and new vocab. (that is why it is my fourth language...i did not deliberately begin studying, i picked up on it from my puerto rican pal) You'll grasp it very quickly! Anyways, if in case you have any longer questions approximately languages, message me for certain! I research international languages as like...a interest you would say, so I'd be completely satisfied to aid!
