dont listen to paul H because he dont know what hees talking about let me see if I have this right. I work in car audio for a living. you should have orange, black, yellow, gray and pink. Let me tell you what those are because those are the most important. Oh yeah if you have the factory plug in your car go buy the wireing harness if not then keep reading

Dont let any of the wires below touch eachother

orange 12v/constant goes to yellow on aftermarket stereo

black ground, will go to the black on aftermarket stereo

yellow on car harness is radio ignition which will go the red wire on after market stereo

gray is your dimmer wire you dont need that anymore so just cap it off

pink is your power antenna wire and that will go to the blue/white on your after market stereo

Now you have your speaker wires
you should have tan, gray, light green, dark green, brown, yellow, light blue and dark blue

Tan and gray wire goes to white wires on your deck for the front left speakers

Light green and dark green on your car will go to the gray wires on your stereo for your front right speakers

brown and yellow will go to the green wires on your stereo for the rear left

and light blue and dark blue will go with the purple wires on your stereo for the rear right

If you have more questions just ask

Ummm... i'm extremely effective those adult males are incorrect. i experience that each and each and each person 1989 700r4's are an similar, such because the bell housings. The internals are all an similar except for the output shaft on the truck four wheel drive sort (and no tailcone for sure). i understand a few adult males which have used 700r4's out of previous due 80's v6 buicks of their 70's rockcrawlers (a million truck, a million blazer, both equipped 350's). both lasted for a lengthy time period, then burned up because 700r4's aren't any more quite beefy. 86+ were more effective yet nevertheless choose enhancements (servo's, clutches, etc.). surely one of them were given one out of a v8 caprice and after we rebuilt them next to eachother, all parts were an similar. verify software charts for rebuild kits, i imagine you'll see each and each and every of the parts are an similar.

Red wire is power, black wire is ground....all the other wires are paired for the speakers...one positive and one negative terminals. You could remove the rear speakers to see what color wires are going to them and then just play around with the other speaker wires to hook up for the front speakers. Or try wirediagram.com...4.00 for online access to your wiring schematics........Paul
