I'd rather cry, I don't like pain or infection.

Okay, let me get this straight-a person that cuts themselves instead of crying is adding more pain to a situation and leaving scars that remind the person of the incident for as long as the scars last.....? I would much rather cry, then I don't have to explain near as much as to what is going on...usually the person is actually past the point of crying when they begin to cut, so it almost makes me think you are just doing it for attention...so, my best advice to you is much like what the other answers are-get some help!

I understand. I use to cry alot but it never helped. It left me drained and tired. Cutting gives great relief and pleasure as it releases chemicals in your body called endorphins that stimulate pleasure centers. It is very hard habit to quit and more habit forming than most drugs. There are other ways to feel better and deal with pain but they require time and money. unfortunately we aren't all able to afford the therapy. Please try to do what you can because the scars never go away. good luck. Know you are not the only one.

crying would be better, i know i have cut for years and you wouldnt want to know how bad i have cut.i will not write it on this, but maybe if you want to know more, contact me and ill tell you,it might make you think twice before picking up another blade or whatever you use. as for people calling you a looser on this dont listen to them, they are the looser as cutting takes a lot of guts, i wouldnt advise you to do it anymore. get help or try and think of other things to do when you feel like harming yourself. Its hard but we have to start somewhere otherwise bang were dead!!

neither one helps...but at least crying doesnt leave you with physical scars for years to come. Ive had mine for almost 10 yrs.besides...to be honest..i dont even think you really wanna cut either. if you did...you would have kept this to yourself. the fact that you said something...even on here..only indicates you want help. try talking to someone......evaluate why you want to or feel you need to cut. you may actually find its not worth it. I cut myself when i was younger coz i was stressed out alot because my parents fought....it wasnt even worth it. I dont even love my parents now..and barely liked them back then.

Please try not to cut! I think that the reason you do is due to the fact that you were likely not allowed to cry as a child!

I do not understand the new "trend" of people cutting themselves. What is the good thing about it?...Why would you prefer cutting than crying and getting things off your chest?...Argentox2@yahoo.com

please don't do that. i had a friend who did that and it broke my heart. actually, come to think of it, I've had two friends that did that.
i think crying it out is alot easier - and it doesn't require a Band-aid and Neosporin afterwards.
