You can buy the car, but to register it in NJ, you must get an NJ license.

I had a NY License (even though I live in NJ). I bought a car in Florida at an auction. However, to register it in NJ, I had to turn in my NY DL and get an NJ DL.

I just registered the car this past Friday.

Oh, and if you buy it with an out of state license, you will pay that state's tax. When you go to register it in NJ, you will have to pay the difference if the tax rate is higher in NJ.

Then the worst division of transportation within the nation!!! My Dad simply acquired busted for his license tags being two years obsolete. He in no way recieved any realize within the mail. I do not know what it is like in New Jersey however DO NOT BUY A CAR IN WASHINGTON. EVER!!!
