I've found prices from high 2,000.00 to 5,000.00, what to watch out for in prices?

Sony VPL-VW50 “Pearl” SXRD Home Theater Projector is an excellent projector for the price however there are some new, very capable contenders vying for the title of Best High Definition Home Theater Projector under US$10,000. Please read my reply to each of the following questions.

One other projector that can be added to the mix is DreamVision's DreamBee projector, built on JVC's latest D-ILA platform using Gennum's new GF9351 VXP™ video processor.

My current top pick/recommendation in the under US$10,000 class of high performance home theater projectors is the JVC DLA-RS1 D-ILA Home Theater Projector.

Pair any of the high performance 1080p home theater projectors that I've listed with Anchor Bay Technologies' DVDO iScan VP50 [1] or Teranex Mini [2] and you would have a high-definition video projection system that would easily rival those that cost much more.

Hi The Sony VPL-VW100 is the top model with 1920 x 1080 resolution starting at about the $6000 range. It is comparable to other high performance projectors such as the BENQ W 10000, Toshiba MT700 and the Sharp XV-Z20000. Depending on what features you require any of these projectors will give you excellent results.
Cheers.

Have a look below to compare models.

Try www.projectorcentral.com for reviews of several native 1080p projectors. At least four competing projectors are better rated than the Sony. At least two of these have a lower MSRP than the Sony. This market is now extremely competitive.
