Ask him. That's all I can say. Ask some of his friends, truthful friends, though. You can also try to get some of your friends to find out for you.

Think back, how many times has he lied in the past. Is there incentive for him to lie. Also try obserbing his behavior when he isnt lying to when he is. Does his nose increase in size, does a random flying pig pass by when he lies :P (ok ok, im joking) but changes in how he stands, shifting of the feet inability to look into the eye, etc.
It will all come down to life experience when gauging these reactions there is no universal rule when it comes to this

use ur womans instincts.
most women usually know if a guy is lying.
so the problem isnt about the guy lying, its about the woman lying to herself.
many women or people in general dont want to hear the truth. they cannot handle the truth.
so the truth can be staring at them in the face, but they still lie to themselves hoping for something else.

There is no way you can no if he is lying for real or not. You can ask him for the truth and either believe it or not. You don't want to end up in a position where your going through his things (e.g. email etc) to find if someone is liying or not

Check out the Allan Pease book Body Language, its a real help. I have found people who lie tend to over emphasize... ie they will say "I really seriously mean it". If they were truthful they wouldn't say that.
