My fiance asked me to marry him on Christmas day. We decided what kind of wedding we wanted, what colors, and set the date. Since about February first I have been purchasing things a little at a time. I found A LOT of stuff cheap on e-bay and a few other sites on the web. Wal-Mart had some stuff I needed also. I haven't spent too much and I only have a few things left to buy/pay for. The wedding is October 13th, so I have several paydays in between now and then and if I use about $75 out of each of my checks between now and then everything will be payed for. It is also good to call on people you know. My future mother in law is making the cake, my friend is the photographer, and my sister is catering the reception. We were all in agreement that these services would be their wedding gift to us which saves me a whole bunch of money!

We are saving for the wedding. We put down the initial down payment to the country club and 1/2 of the balance is not due until 6 months before the date and the other 1/2 is due 1 week prior to the services. We are putting away 200.00 a piece (400.00) into a wedding savings fund that we created. We are spending around 6500. for the entire event.

We paid for it ourselves (wedding costs totaled $30k). But 90% of our 200 guests brought cash as their gift, so it pretty much made up for all the costs. In the end, the guests paid for the wedding and reception, and we paid for the honeymoon.

lots of discipline and saving. after a year we have saved over 13,000 (we also bought a house during the engagement so it was a little hard to save). My parents are helping by paying for my dress and the photographer and half the honeymoon. We have managed to only put a few hundred on credit cards that we almost have paid off. Good luck!

We had a VERY cheap wedding and I paid for it! With my dress, the tuxes, church, reception hall, dj, decorations, food, cake, rings, absolutely everything, it cost us $2,000. It was a big wedding too... 300 guests...

getting married in Vegas, so not that much $$$, but we'll pay part now & part later. I bought an "off the rack" dress & a veil for $12 bucks, so I'm money ahead!
