Yes, I watched it. I try to be informed about religion, even as an atheist, so I know what I'm arguing about. It was powerful only because they decided to use so much blood in the making of it. I thought their efforts to over-sympathisize Jesus had the reverse effect of what they were trying to do (assumably make people understand how much he suffered for them). Interesting film, though at no time was he really represented as anything other than a man. I believe a man called Jesus existed, and he was the most influential man of our time. But I do not believe he was anything other than human. All in all, I found the film to be tedious. It really was all about his suffering, and not much more than that. I had wanted to learn more about the politics behind his crucifiction, and this film was pretty low on that.

I am an atheist and I watched it simply because I enjoy movies. I thought it concentrated almost totally on the story of the crucifixion, and the pain and suffering. It addressed almost nothing about the teachings or the message. It tried to cash in on the violence much the same as a Terminator movie. As far as movies go it was a disappointment. There have been much better movies made about fictional characters.

Yes, as a matter of fact I have watched it. It wasn't a bad movie, but Gibson was more concerned about triggering emotional responses than about making a good film. It didn't leave that much of an impression with me. Personally, I like "The Last Temptation of Christ".

I watched it. I really, really didn't get the attraction of the movie.
Some bits of it were nice, cinematically. While Satan was crusing around the outside of the circle while they were beating him, was done interestingly.
But the rest of it was just a glorification of suffering. That in itself was not pleasant to watch (yes, I get the point. I'm an ex-christian). But some of it was so over the top - the gallons and gallons of blood that were spilt couldn't even be in the human body.

The Passion, no, the passion of Christ, yes.
Not a bad movie, worth the money paid for the show. However, the only thing I don't like is they speaks english ..... Jesus Christ does not speak english. It should have full hebrew with English Sub-titles.

It's pathetic really... my mother won't let me watch it because it's rated R and I'm almost 20 years old. I can't go out and rent it - she'll find out. She won't punish me. But I hate disappointing people's wishes even over something as trivial as this.
I just wish someone would post the whole movie on youtube (before it's deleted of course).

I did watch it and found it to be somewhat boring. The subtitle thing sucked and we know how this fable ends with Christ making himself a martyr just like Socrates.

Worst movie of all time I think. Nothing but a man getting tortured and dying, that's the plot. If you haven't seen it, I'm sorry I ruined it.

I don't have the stomach for that kind of violence...and I'm a horror movie fan.

I saw it and thought it sucked.
Maybe cause I already knew how it was going to end.
The subtitle thing really got on my nerves too.
