What if the anticipated 'Rapture' has already happened and all of us were left here in what many Christians think of as such a sinful world and this is our hell?

Wouldn't that be great irony? We non Christians have to listen to the Christians forever (our hell) and they realize they weren't as saved as they had imagined (their hell).

"Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come. Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for (that day will not come) until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God."

What an amazing thought! I LOVE it! It's nice to see someone thinking outside the square now and then. It reminds me of the statement in The HiItchhiker's Guide about the theory that if anyone did find out the answer to Life, The Universe and everything, that the world would be erased and something even more bizarre would replace it. There was also a theory that this had already happened.
I have a horrible feeling about the possible truth of that . . . .

The "rapture" is part of a senile, demented old man living out his last days on the island of Patmos, who was raised in the Jewish religion and never GOT the message Jesus taught right. The Apostle John. Because many are so used to animalistic behaviors and "vengence" many who call themselves "christian" look for the day God gets EVEN. He NEVER does, and will tell you WHY. God is NOT of the "nature" mankind has imagined him to be nor is he of destructive behaviors like the sadistic God of the Jews. Jesus said , the Father in heaven loves everyone, including his enemies and we should do the same. Has it sunk into the mentalities of those who still think like neanderthals? And it's not about to either...................

Cute...but it has not happened yet.....The tribulation period, which begins at the Rapture(pre-trib doctrine) will be the worst period that this earth has ever experienced..especially the last 3 1/2 years of the 7 year reign of the Antichrist....all kidding aside, you do not want to be here.

That's cute. Either that or some non-Christians are in heaven to learn from the Christians, and the Christians are correct in their view of salvation. Either way the non Christians feel they are in hell.

Hmmm...

Er, it did. The Rapture was back in the late summer or early fall of 1998. I don't remember exactly when, but I think it was in September.

No, everyone will know when Jesus returns. It is going to be loud this time. When He came here as a little baby, it was a different story so that the prophecy would be fulfilled. Jesus will come with the band of angels, and every knee will bow. : )

We (Christians) aren't all annoying. Just the obnoxious ones that thump. They annoy me too. There are good apples and bad apples in every basket of life.

It has happened, and is happening and will happen. It's a dream and a metaphore and the only way to sensibly apply concepts from the bible to life. We all create our own heaven or hell and being that is such an abstract concept, it is often explained through metaphore.

The rapture of the Church has not already happened.
There are signs that have to happen first.
Believe me, if the rapture already happened everyone on earth would know it.
