If they are small logs it is probably a cat, they are agile, light weight, and generally stealthy so you wouldn't catch them in the act. I suggest that put Cayenne pepper all over that spot so that we the catch tries to wipe on the roof it will remember that a flaming sphincter is nothing to be happy about. I am not sure what a mudroom is so discribing the type of being on the roof is a bit hard to imagine, but if it is a cat, burn the taint. And, please don't alarm animal control of my tactics, this is strictly for the evil alley cats that avoid animal control with their ninja like techinques.

Too funny!! Lets hope it's a something & not a someone! It is more than likely a raccoon or squirrel. The raccoons doodoo of course will be a little larger, sort of the size of a medium to small size dog doo. You might try putting some mothballs up there & see if that helps. There are also some sprays you can get in pet shops that are supposed to keep animals away.

That is very interesting. Is there a tree overhanging the roof? It could be a squirrel, raccoon, or a cat. Their poo all looks the same. If there is a flat spot up there cover what ever you can with moth balls. They all hate the smell of them and will probably find somewhere else to go. But they could also be doing it from up high if there is a high branch.

It is most likely an animal. Unless it looks like human crap. Then it could be either a human or a dog or a large cat. If you have any neighbors you think could be doing it then watch at night. Or if you dont want to do that and have some money you could set up cameras. Not really high tech ones, just ones that would film good at night and be able to record all night. Or day. Whenever it happens.

Look straight up and see if there is a tree branch overhanging the roof. It could be that a bird has taken to roosting in a branch and is dumping onto your roof. As soon as the bird finds another place to sit, your problem will be gone.

Most likely a cat or another animal. Poor some chlorine bleach in the area to take the scent away and hopefully the creature will find a different place to relieve itself.

well i don't know how a kid can get on a mudroom, but perhaps its some kid of an animal. If a kid wanted to poop on your house, they would at least make it in a conspicuous area. Or at least thats what i do.

Cats don't usually do it unless they can cover it up. What does the scat look like? Maybe its a bird..sitting somewhere above the roof. Some birds can make some pretty hefty loads...

it could be some rude kid that has nothing better to do, than to annoy you (unless there is someone that has something against you). Remove anything that makes it easy for them to climb up there and leave your lights on at night, for a while. Good luck!
