Clean out a plastic egg carton, and put a heaping teaspoon of mince/meatloaf in each compartment. Close, then shake 20 times. You'll get perfectly round meatballs. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes in a 200C oven (400F), then douse in ketchup or teriyaki sauce, and serve on those fancy toothpicks.

Orange smiles: Cut the orange in half across the segments, then slice each half into three wedges.

Octopus weiners: Cut each weiner in half, then slice along the bottom to make "legs". Fry in a fry pan, and the "legs" will curl up. You can add sesame seed eyes if you like.

Cracker tray: If the kids are old enough, a cracker buffet is nice (they can make their own). But, it'll be less messy to make them. On top of a varieity of crackers, put cream cheese and cucumbers, ham and sliced cheese, peanut butter and jelly, cream cheese and jelly, pepperoni and string cheese circles.

Dip cookies in melted chocolate, and let cool on wax paper -- it's an easy way to spiffy up the store-bought cookies. You can roll in crushed nuts, if you like.

Good luck!
