Hydrostatic tanks are the most accurate way of testing for body composition. Unfortunately, you can't find this just anywhere and it can be expensive. The next best thing would be using a pair of $35 calipers. Scales, even electrolysis scales, aren't very accurate. The problem with electrolysis scales is that electricity is going to always use the quickest route to ground, so there is no way for it to accurately determine body composition if it's going through only certain types of tissue. BMI is about the worst way also.

The most accurate way to do is water scale program which you have to have the equipment for it. The easiest and close to the most accurate way to measure your body fat is through electricity scale. I like the one by TANITA made in Japan of course.

BUY A TANITA SCALE SPECIALLY MADE TO MEASURE BODY FAT OR HAVE A CALIPER MEASUREMENT.
THESE ARE RELATIVELY GOOD. WHAT'S MOST IMPORTANT IS THE WATER BUOYANCY TEST FOR THE MOST ACCURATE RESULTS.
