you are losing water weight and muscle not fat and also dramatically slowing down your metabolism which will make fat loss in future sooo much harder. plus you will gain back even more than lost as soon as start eating normal.
you need 50cal an hour just for bodily functions (if you would be in coma) and thats 1200cal a day.

By not eating enough, your body will eat away at your muscles for energy. This slows down your Metabolism. Whilst the initial weight loss might seem great, as soon as you start to eat normally again the weight will come straight back - probably worse. The only way to lose weight and keep it off is to eat healthy balanced meals and get plenty of exercise.

Also without the important nutrients our food gives us you are more likely to suffer from bad skin, hair and nails. Not to mention the effects on your insides!!

There are so many tips available for healthy weight loss on the net. My fave is www.weightloss.com.au. This website is full of great tips, recipes for healthy meals, meal plans, exercise plans.

Good luck... and go get a sandwich.

Wow. That is a very dangerous thing to be doing. There is a right way to lose weight and get in good shape, and a very bad way. I'm afraid you have chosen the wrong path. I hope that you don;t listen to anyone who says its ok. 500 calorie diet makes it sound civil. You could just say: "im cutting my >required< number of calories for healthy living into fourths and partially starving myself so that my body will have to burn fat". But that would sound like you were on the path to anerexia, and you wouldnt want people to know that, would you. Im sorry this is so mean and serious, its just that you should find the right way to do this. Heck, eat 5000 calories a day, and use hydroxy cut, just please dont starve yourself.

Your body won't get enough nutrients causing all your muscles will become weak, including your heart and you could possibly die. It's the same sort of thing as being anorexic. Basically. Stop it right now. I know it's tempting to want to lose the weight, but do it the healthy way so you can live to enjoy the weight loss.

You would lost muscle mass, leaving with a higher percent body fat, making you essentially fatter than you were before the crash diet. Also, it would negatively alter your metabolism, negatively affect your heart, and set up for a greater weight gain when you eventually returned to normal eating. Just remember, when it comes to weight loss, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Those 15 lbs you've lost is precious muscle that you could've been working out. You're also making your heart suffer from eating such low calories and putting your body in starvation mode.

You might have brought on possible organ and tissue damage-you need to get to your doctor immediately!! If I were you, I would reevaluate your life to find out if those 15 lbs are worth you losing your life over.

500 cal. a day can do a lot. You can loose weight. Loose muscle. Loose fat. Stop thinking correct. Feeling very tired very quickly. Forget things easily. But yes you loose a lot of weight very quickly.

no! If you want to lose weight try 1,000 calories a day.

500 calories a day will make your body go into starvation mode and you may gain weight than lose it as your body will try to store fat instead of burn it.

you should calculate your bmi to make sure your not underweight...http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bmicalc.htm

eating like that can lead to eating disorders
