I'm looking at making a list, like a 10 commandments of good eating. My first one is "Don't watch TV while you eat", since it makes it easier to eat more, and forget what you are eating. What rules do you have?

Plan ahead! I find that if i plan what i am going to eat for the day (or week), it is a lot easier to eat healthy. When you pre-plan, everything is already chopped and bagged and ready to go. You dont have to worry about needing to run to the store for something or stopping at a fast food restaurant.

Also, always sit at the table when you eat. Like your no TV rule, this also keeps you more mindful of what you are eating.

I also eat off the salad plates instead of the dinner plates. This way I can still clean my plate without over eating.

And drink a full 8oz glass of water before you eat anything. This should help in keeping you from over eating.

eat small portions every 2-3 hours
drink water every time i go in kitchen and 2 glasses of water before breakfast
allways eat breakfast
every time im in a store and want to buy something "unhealthy" (e.g. sun chips, bagels, muffins, icecream) i check how many calories are in there and at the end decide its not worth it
even if i do buy something like a little candy bar or chocolate - i have a bite and throw it out before i change my mind

I eat whatever I want...but one portion only. If I'm still hungry, I fill up on raw veggies. I can have as much of that as I want.
