Pure Capitalism does not work.
Capitalism
+ Exists only for profit
+ Would let the poor, disabled, and aged starve to death
+ Would throw the old workers away for young
+ Would not provide medical care to those without health insurance
Bits of Socialism are found in Social Services like:
+ Unemployment insurance
+ Welfare
+ Medicare
+ Social Security
+ Public Schools
+ Police and Fire Departments
+ Libraries
+ Parks
A little Socialism makes Capitalism go much farther.

Pure socialism might be, but many of its ideas are in use in governments that don't claim to be socialist. In fact, just about any system that tries to redistribute wealth is at least in some ways socialist. Welfare is a good example.

I don't think so, I just think that it is unlikely to win votes in the society we live in so the politicians don't opt for it.
