Interesting question, many have noticed this but no one dares say it, First intelligent question here today! I believe this is a test. We HAVE to not only tolerate each other but we have to accept each other for who they are, not always convert or die or im going to make you miserable. We have to get along whether we like it or not.

As a Christian, I personally do NOT question other people's beliefs. I'm curious as to other people's ideas, but do not tell them how to think - I really try NOT TO JUDGE because this is what Jesus would do. I am saddened when I hear of violence between religions. We are all praising the same God.
On the flip side, I do think that God gives us freedom to make our own decisions, but he already knows what those decisions are going to be because he knows everything and controls everything. So yes, when we make wrong decisions, it's because He has put us in that situation for a reason. There is a master plan and he's the Master!

Not at all. Predominately Christian communities tend to be unusually law-abiding and the people are generally courteous and friendly. If you're a people-person,a small town in Nebraska is a pleasant place to be. They have a lot of picnics and church socials, that kind of thing. As far as intolerance, are you kidding me? Just read these postings by Nontheists. And bear in mind, they don't just have a closed mind about Christianity,it's every religion on earth - they just heap it all with scorn and abuse,no respect for anybody, anywhere. They hate Christians,Muslims,Hindus, you name it. They do make an exception for very, very small religions - Wiccans,Pagans, the Bahai Faith - but that's obviously because they aren't perceived as serious competition.

Unfortunately, many "Christians" are Chino's (Christians in name only.) It is not God's way to torture and kill to convert. That's man's way.
As for tolerance for different ideas, we're supposed to love the sinner, hate the sin. I'm not going to compromise my beliefs, but I'm also not going to go all radical on people just because they believe differently. It is possible to agree to disagree.
Christians who get violent are not acting in a Godly manner. God says that you will know them by their fruits. The fruit of the spirit is love, meekness, gentleness, kindness, long-suffering, etc.
Of course, standing firm on one's beliefs is not the same as being violent. Name-calling and sluring is not something anyone should practice.
Anyone who says they're a Christian and acts in a mean-spirited manner is a liar (or having a really bad day and need to repent...Christians aren't perfect).

We must get along... regardless of which religion you are coming from, which you have embraced, which you dislike. With 6 billion people on Earth there will always be those people or that someone who will try and force you to convert by his/her/their violent ways.. we must not let that person express the religion as a whole and represent it by his violent ways and genocide. Christians have a past of putting you in that live or die situation which shouldn't have been done in the first place but we must learn from them.

Yes, many Christians are the most "unchristian type of people". Even though I am Christian, I can't explain it or justify it. Many times I find that atheists or people of different religions (than mine own) aren't the people I'm fighting injustices against, but rather it's Christians. That's not the way it should be.

No I do not believe this is what God wants. I think that over and over people have misused the name of God to do their "bidding". I also know that not all Christians are like this, many are very accepting, loving and kind people who care about those around them. They treat others and their ideas with respect, and do a lot of good in the communities and the world around them.
There are also a lot of non Christians who are violent, intolerant and narrow minded.

Hi there,
personally i don't believe in the word christian as they are no different from me or you. In fact a lot of Christians are hypocrites in the respect of, they go to church and preach and prey, that's fine but when they walk out the door they swear, drink etc and do the same thing i do. I believe in god yes, but i don't go to church. God wont leave me just because i don't go. Blessed be.

--I am sorry that you have met people who claim to be Christians but didn't treat you in a Christian way.. I don't mean to be rude, but as far as I know there has never been groups of-Real Christians murdering and torturing non-Christians to get them to convert, Please enlighten me. I have heard of some religions Islamic extremists, Egyptian Pharaohs , Etc., killing Christians for not being one of them but -not the other way around.

so what you are saying is that ALL Christians are violent people, when ever you question their beleifs.
You have no clue and your question and insult is only posted for one reason, to offend and attack people who have given so much for you!
Christians stood up to those who wanted you to bow down and worship the queen. They didn't want your opinion, just your submission to their laws that took away your rights. It was Christians who took them on and won the war!
If we were to think the way you do, we would think that every non-believer who comes to yahoo R&S are nothing but trouble making snobs, like you! But we would never stereo-type all non-believers, that would be wrong.
Your are just one of the few trouble making snobs who's only motive is to insult people for LOVING GOD!
