It is what is referred to as an Eisenhower jacket, or "Ike" jacket
a type of military uniform blouse, or shortened coat, terminating in a waistband. Introduced by U.S. Army General and Supreme Commander of the Allied forces in Europe Dwight David Eisenhower, his innovative design initially appeared in 1943 as a modified version of the U.S. Army's regulation service uniform coat,

Later examples were manufactured in the shortened form and became widely popular among U.S. Army officers and enlisted men as standard additions to their service uniform.

The inner pocket tag reads, "JACKET, WOOL, O.D.M-1950 for a Korean War Uniform.

I also noticed the rank of Staff Sargent (E-6) on the uniform that you have.

I have attached a picture that matches the same type uniform that you have.

Yes.

It was the only uniform of it's type and issued to all troops in Korea. I wore it. It is heavy, also used as a Class A uniform and actually was pretty good looking. They were also warm. I noticed the 8th Amy patch on the sleeve!

Those changed a bit over the years, so I would say that one is pre-1960's! The uniform is now no longer used, but I don't know when it was retired!
