you have a chance, GOOD is a relative term. I see about 80% of cases get approved

It took me 7 years to be approved. I have Graves disease that went undiagnosed for over 20 years, and it destroyed my body. The constant weight changes wreaked havoc on me, and the thyroid meds have since destroyed my bones. I suffer nearly constant migraines, vision changes, joint pain, back pain, I go from sleeplessness to not being able to stay awake. I can't handle loud noise, bright light, heat (living in the Arizona desert is a real joy). I can't lift anything over 10 pounds, and that hurts. I can't stand for more than 5 minutes at a time, forget stairs. I just can't do them. If there isn't an elevator, I don't go up there.

But I did get it. And all the back money from 60 days after my first application. If you are denied, get a Social Security Lawyer. You are told to get one after the first denial, and that is generally the process they follow. I heard that everyone, other than obvious cases are denied the first time out.

It can get rough if you don't have money stashed away. I ended up homeless for a while, and now live month to month, but have not been released by my doctor. I have not improved, just worsened. And my doctor stuck by me through all this, giving me my meds and paying for my tests out of her pocket.

It will depend upon the people reviewing your records. Most people do not get approved on the first go around. You can appeal for two years following any denial.
