Check with your state government. Meanwhile, if 'Father' has made no effort to reconnect with his children, and he is not hurt or otherwise incapacitated, that's abandonment.

Depends on what state. A parent in GA has 30 days to at least call. Then it's abandonment. Call an attorney and just ask.

You need to call a social worker or family law attorney.Usually about 6 mos to a yr. I'd guess, but Im not 100% sure ssing state laws vary from state to state.

If the kid drives the parent out of their life for no honest reason it isn't called abandonment.

It's not a matter of time, but of declaration. If the father declares he is leaving and disowns his children, it is considered abandonment. True abandonment, however, requires both parents to desert the child.
