I think yes. For those who believe in Christ we just remember God's promises and dwell on those things. Plus, Jesus has victory over death and hell so there is no real reason to fear now.

But we are still in our natural form and fear does crop up once in a while. I find as I get older, the fear lessens. I was much more afraid when I was young. Guess I am getting closer and closer to check out time.

If you are uncertain as to where you are going upon death, then it is very wise to be afraid. Some of the gifts of salvation is peace of conscience - and joy in the Holy Ghost. Seek the Lord while he can be found, call on Him while he is near.

Yes, it is OK because it is going to be the "end" of your life in earth and I, personally am afraid of the way that I am going to die because I don't want a painful death, I don't want to be murdered... you know? But only God knows how things are going to be. You better try to concentrate in your goals, the things you want to accomplish, following God's rules so you can be with him someday and stop the fear, have faith, spend time with your family and friends and let them know tha you love them and show it to them. But you have to know that after we die we are not done. I am a LDS and I can tell you that when we die we can still learning, the soul will not die with the body and someday we will have our body back in a perfect condition!!! :)

Of course it is. I think we all fear it now and then throughout life. I know I do from time to time. As you get older i'm sure it will happen a bit more often. I think the more you enjoy life, the more you fear death, because you can't imagine not being around anymore to enjoy it. That's my theory.

i guess such a question is prompted by the religious peoples that are not afraid of death.. even when you look at the apostles like peter and paul who would go directly towards the towns of certain persecution.. but.. i think God gave them strength at that certain moment, even though i believe it is in human nature to be afraid..

Yep... in fact, it's instinctual. Life always tries to preserve itself, so it's wired deep down into the primitive parts of your brain that you must do anything and everything to avoid your life being terminated, and a healthy fear of death reinforces this instinct.

Sometimes it's unhealthy, though, when people obsess about it, can't sleep or eat or leave the house without fearing it. That's not normal.

It is normal to want to self-preserve, though.

No one can run from death, it will catch up to everyone someday. It is better to concern oneself with the act of living and let tomorrow take care of itself.

Yes, certainly -- death is a great unknown -- unless fear of it is overwhelming you and damaging your quality of life, in which case you should probably see a doctor about it.
