Eragon, definitely. The Bible's pacing is horrible, and it's all over the place, going from storytelling to something more akin to a book of poetry back to storytelling etc. etc. Its characters are one-dimensional, and their personalities are inconsistent with themselves.
Only the crappiest fiction stories could do worse than the Bible in that department--as a work of fiction, it is structured horribly, below amateur level.

Well, the obvious answer here, if you haven't already read them, is the Lord of the Rings series. Be sure to start with "The Hobbit". If you are looking for something a little further from the beaten path, I would try "Elric of Melnibone" if you can still find them. That series doesn't exactly have vampires, but there is a vampire-like theme to them. Instead of sucking the victims' blood, the main character sucks souls through his sword. No matter what, keep reading!

The bible is ok fantasy, but it lacks captivating the audience. unless you read like a good news bible or something where they modified it for normal people. The good stories last too short too. Liek ehud when he infilrated a king's castle and killed the king, and escaped out the toilet. That lasts about a page

The Bible is a the greatest of all "fantasies" because it has changed more lives than any other book written. It gives more hope, love, and comfort. Its main character, Jesus, has had more songs, poems, books, and stirred the world better and longer (over 2,000 years)than any other "fantasy" written. Hope this has at least answered part of your question.

Well the bible is way more fantasical. I mean it's downright unrealistic.
Eragon wins on entertainment value though.

I personally favor the collective works of Richard Dawkins.
Say, did you know SCIENCE has a catagory for a speices that the Hobbit was a part of!
It's called H. Floreniesis
So, Science has validated the Hobbit! Now that's fantasy!
