I’m not sure you are doing anything wrong. It is perhaps more of what you are not doing but that is hard to say from only your question. Not everyone that accepts Christ has a “Pentecostal Experience” some do others don’t.
Whatever you do, do not fall prey to the sophomoric answers some will give you in this forum. They are not here to help anyone only to pontificate. They seem to gain some pleasure from displaying their immaturity and lack of knowledge
I looked at your profile and it gave rise to a number of questions. How and when did you accept Christ? You say you think you are Catholic. Given the politics of Northern Ireland I wonder how that plays in your spiritual life. You say you are an ex-prisoner. Were your crimes moral or political? Did you find Salvation while a prisoner, before or after?
I ask these questions because they have a direct bearing on your Christian growth. Having accepted Christ as Lord and Savior means that you will never be alone in this world or the next; Christian growth means you need to learn how to access the blessings of Our Lord. That is the task of a Priest, Pastor, an Evangelical and fellowship with other Christians. From your question I feel as though you are trying to do it alone and that may well be what is wrong.
Please email me if you would like to discuss this further. I will be more than glad to help in any way I can.

You have accepted Jesus but are you developing your relationship with Him? The more you get to know Him, the more real your relationship will be. Be disciplined in daily bible readings. Ask the Holy spirit to help you understand what you are reading. Be disciplined in daily prayer. Set a side a time each day and stick to it even when you don't feel like it. Talk to Jesus and tell Him all about you, as well as asking for His help. Take time to listen and meditate on His word. Get to know Him the way you would with any friend and I'm sure it won't be long before you realise just how close to you He is and of course make sure that you have plenty of Christian fellowship. God bless.

Because you are far away from Him, as am I, people expect God to come and hold their hand through life when that's not how it works....the prophet Daniel fasted just for an interpretation of a dream ....how long did take before the message got through to him? And he was a prophet...a spokesperson for the Holy Creator.....God put people here to take care of themselves with free will and freedom of choice....if your heart is true and you have patience He'll touch your life when He's ready not because you want something now! We're at a point in human history right now where the devil has so much control over this planet that it's extremely difficult for even the slightest message to get through.....Fasting and prayer is only way !!!!!

You're not doing anything wrong per se...Just ask yourself if you have truly accepted Jesus into your heart and made Him Lord of your life. Jesus loves you whether you sin or not, but you may want to look at your life and see if there is some sin there standing out. Sometimes God allows us to feel alone at times so we can truly appreciate his presence. Christians call these times "dry spells" but with faith and patience you will feel God's presence again. Don't give up-Jesus loves you. :)

You know, don't listen to what everybody else is saying in here. It is perfectly normal for a Christian to feel alone - I know that I have and I've been a Christian for 15 years now. Just have faith and believe that God is there right now with you and will be with you forever. Hope this helps.

I like your new look, :o)
Read through your Bible, and cut out those things from your life that separate you from the Lord. Turn away from all sin, dishonesty and wrongdoing, so that you can walk the path of Christ. Pray to Jesus, sincerely and from your heart, ask Him to reveal Himself more in your life and to send His Holy Spirit to fill and guide you. Love God, beauty, and goodness, resist all evil temptations, and you will find yourself becoming closer to God.

You aren't doing anything wrong. Often times God seems remote from us. Perhaps He is taking you on a spiritual journey of which you are not yet aware. In my experience, I continue to pray and ask the Lord what His will is. Eventually it becomes more clear, whether I get a word from a friend, a situation, the word, or from God Himself.
He will never leave you or foresake you....
God is good... ALL the time!
blessings and (((hugs))) in Christ Jesus :)

If you are far from God, it is because you left Him, He didn't leave you. Maybe you are going by feelings, and not by faith. I've been there, I know what you are talking about. I prayed more, and asked Him to use me, and He did, I now work in a mission field. Draw near to Him, and He will Draw near to you.

I am not away from him but I have. To get closer I read my bible, watch sermins and get notes from it, also being in a bible study group at school has all helped me get closer to God. You are not doing anything wrong you just need to trust in God to help you get closer and do some things that I did.

Sometimes we go through dry seasons....you may have done nothing wrong...If you've confessed any sin to Him, you could still be walking in His will....This is where faith comes in. He promised NEVER to leave or forsake you. As long as you are daily praying and reading His word....keep on, keeping on and before you know it you'll be through this dry season and into the rain of His presence again.
