Please help!! I'm thinking about going away for college; what's your advice?

I've lived in the same general area my entire life and want to move away to a beach town so bad! I've planned on going to the local community college for Psychology, but now I'm thinking I might want to move to Florida or the Carolinas for college. The only problem is, I'm a little intimidated about moving away from home so soon. I think it's something I could get over, but I'd just feel better hearing your advice too.

Did you move away for college?

If you did, did you have a great time and feel comfortable being away from home so young?
If you didn't, do you regret not moving away or going (in general)?

if you really want to learn and won't be side tracked by the coast, do it. living in a dorm isn't exactly being on your own so you needn't worry about being alone. i wish i had gone to college. it can be a huge part of your life. the memories and friends you'll make are to many to mention. not to mention the education.take a chance. you're young. do what you can now while you have the chance.if it doesn't work out, you can't say you never tried. best of luck in your decision.
