I've never heard of Whole foods...sorry I can't help you there. Traders Joes is good. However...you have to know a good deal. Some of their products are outrageously priced yet their a few that are reasonable. I figure...if I want it (even if it's expensive) I'll buy it as a special treat. Some of their sauces are very expensive but you can often stretch them by added ingredients to make them less so. :)

Trader Joes gets a lot of their foods from overseas (which means they aren't being inspected)...

so...Whole Foods is a better, healthier choice. It may cost a little more but the food is grown and inspected here in America.

For what it is worth, TJ's ranked higher in last October's "Consumer Reports." However, we are really beginning to notice a decline in TJ's, like they are beginning to take their success and customers for granted. Inquiries we have sent to their customer service (to both its California and Massachusetts headquarters) have gone unanswered. New TJ stores are always the same, meanwhile, Whole Foods is introducing huge food emporiums.

It really depends on what you are looking for. Personally, I don't go to either. Too high priced.

Keep in mind that they are both actually owned by the same company.
