This car has been in development for years now. During it's development it was called "The car of Tomorrow". The name has just stuck now. It will likely be referred to as the COT until it is the only car being run in the Cup.

The Car of Tomorrow is not run through the full season and at all tracks. When it does, I'm pretty sure you wont hear it called the Car of Tomorrow.

Because it is the intention of NASCAR to run these cars full time in the next couple of years. They are asking the owners for their input as to feedback on things that could be improved in the cars and if they would like to run them full time next year.

Because, hopefully tomorrow, they will get rid of those sucky cars and continue running the cars they have been. Kurt Busch and Junior both have blasted the cars, even after Kurt won with it. Apparently they are very hard to handle.
