Suggestions for helping yourself to sleep better include making sure you're bedroom is fully dark, that you have relaxed before bed, that you see your room as somewhere to relax (don't do any work in there)
Also, make sure you get up and go to bed at the same time each day, even if yo haven't slept the night before, and don't nap during the day
You could do relaxation exercises before bed, maybe try some lavender under your pillow, or have a warm bath

I think a quiet time before going to bed helps. Turn off the TV/music and just relax. Take a warm, not hot, bath and light the candles. Think about your day, then allow your thoughts to drift away. When you get into bed, write down any worries and leave them in the notebook so that you don't wake in the night thinking you might forget something the next day. Turn off the lights and do some relaxation movements, working from your feet up to your head. Make sure your room is warm and comfortable. The decor is important. Your bedroom should have subtle colours, perhaps terracotta, peach, pale pink, rose, blue, green, but not bright stimulating colours as these will not allow you to sleep

Personally i knock myself out with weed, booze or anything else really lol, but i wouldnt recommend it. Sometimes at the end of the day its easy to think of all the rubbish that goes on in your life, and little things like not paying bills and stuff really get to me so i cant relax either.

Before you go to bed, write down ANYTHING that is bothering you in your life, and a realistic way to solve it - if possible. Then when you lay in bed, think of all nice things (sounds bollox i know) like funny times you've had, what you want to do this year, where you want to go on holiday etc. Also (very cliche) having a hot bath/shower is really relaxing, but try to go to bed as soon after because its easy to "wear off". Herbal nytol also has a calming effect, however you must try and stay in bed after taking it.

Don't ever drink alcohol, it makes it worse - trust me!

Try to have a period of time when you are not doing anything such as computer, TV or thinking about tomorrow/yesterday etc. Prepare a hot bath and a milky drink, take time to enjoy both and forget about any of the days happenings. When in bed read a novel preferably something light or humorous, turn out light and sleep. Think only good things as you drift off.

This sometimes depends on the circumstances (i.e. it's not always possible) but I have often found that it helps to go for a walk for about 10-20 minutes. Normal walking pace, neither a brisk march nor a stroll.
This helps especially if for some reason you are hot (like having been to a party and been dancing a lot) and it is relatively cool outside.

Well try this it work´s . First do your normal shower/ bath before going to bed. Now find some soft music, have the volume down ,just enough so you can barely here it. Pop into to bed, Now imagine your body is full of SAND,. Imagine the your body is so heavy, your legs are heavy, the SAND is so heavy ,your legs can´t move. Your upper body is so heavy,Your arms are heavy, Now Imagine your body is full of little holes, The SAND is now flowing from the little holes in your body,RELAX, RELAX. feel the SAND slowly flowing from your legs, how nice it feels , now the SAND is slowly , slowly flowing from your body. Listen to the music , feel the SAND flowing from your body. Please try this ,it really work´s. It might take a few times till it works , but concentrate and very soon you will go to sleep

I usually just go for a long hike in the hills after work which helps reduce my stress. Then right before bed I read a book or watch a movie.

Listen to soft music.Getting up in in the middle of night indicates perhaps you are going to bed too early.Watch late night programmes or go to bed after 11 only.
