This goes for all groups/religions.
Examples:
-When an atheist posts a question comparing God to an imaginary friend.
-When a Christian posts a question that "reminds" atheists to repent before it's too late.
-Any of Jonas' questions.
I know the purpose of this board is strictly to ask and asnwer questions, but do you enjoy the drama as a bit of background entertainment?

slave of 12 gods, sorry! I'm kind of new here so I wasn't sure what people would say. I can imagine how this would be a popular question, I just never got in the habit of looking up questions that have already been asked.
The number of people in it for the questions rather than the drama is much higher than I expected though! Not that that is good or bad, just surprising.

Geezah,
that was cute. I can picture someone with a cross on the wall giving out a thumbs down and feeling like they are doing the lord's work.
I can also imagine atheists doing the same thing... but I don't imagine the same self-righteous smile. More like a "what an idiot, thumbs down!" type look on their face.
I reserve thumbs downs for answers that don't actually address the question, but I enjoy all types of them all the same.

like the first answer by lisaandpathailey, I don't get why people thumbs down her when her answer is exactly what this question is looking for. Is thumbs down just for disagreement or quality of the answer?

Yes. And I enjoy answers that do, too.

I love how people ask about homosexuality in this section and post tons of scripture relating to it.... why cant people just live their life how they want and not be judged, one day we will all be judged accordingly. But yeah, some of the answers are great, and picking fights on answers is fun and a great thing to do to waste time.

The absurdity of this board makes it humorous- it's the main reason I come here. Seriously some of the religious doctrines are so outlandish I would never have imagined people could believe in them.

Oh absolutely. That's one of my main reasons for coming here. I suspect most of the others are just interested in doling out thumbs up/down to get their self-righteous kicks.

Of course! When I ask a question here, I do genuinely want to see what people's answers are, but I can't deny it's fun to provoke.

It's kind of funny to see how people react to the sometimes stupid questions. It's probably a good thing that people can't reach out and touch other people. "Cause then things would really get out of hand.

I have to admit, I do get tickled at some of the answers.
But many don't realize what may be funny to them, can and does hurt others.
I try to teach, as Jesus asked us to do.
Unless I say it's my opinion, it's from our bible which is the basis of our literature. Also note, if you read through, we give credit to the actual source it came from.
I used to give a live link to our Watchtower.org, but yahoo got offended somehow and made up software to block our live links. I tested my theory and proved it to myself.

I enjoy some of the seriousness, but also that people, including me, are okay with all the levity. You can't be serious all the time especially here.

Open-minded people can cope with any sort of people and ideas! They don't go in panick over-drive about anything! On the other hand, immature people fear the unknown, fear change and will go to any length to hang on to the status-quo! to the old traditions, or to whatever they were often born in!!! in which case geography itself dictates what it all will be.
But as far as what you say here, isn't that why the reality shows are so popular??? I call them "modern-day voyeurism". Then again, that's just my opinion!!!
