Definitely talk to the landlord, I hope they are reasonable people. Perhaps something can be done to the door to help soften the closing of it or the landlord can talk to the people and tell them that action is annoying their neighbors. No doubt it is just a habit and the door may just not close easily so they have to slam it. I feel sorry for you having to hear that. I hope you can rectify the problem so you can have some peace at home without that. Sometimes people can be so annoying and like someone else said, not even know their behavior is causing irritation to someone else.

If that doesn't work, go over, pound on the door and when they answer, tell them all about the annoyance they are causing and ask them to please be aware of it and to please ease up because you can't take it any more.

Is this the only annoying habit they have, or do they blare loud music, come in all hours of the day and night, stomp on their floors, etc.? If all they do is slam their door, I'd let it go--you're very fortunate! If they're generally noisy, you may want to ask them to please stop slamming their door. I had a next door neighbor in an apartment I lived in years ago who did this. The doors were on pneumatic closers, and would slam if you just let them go. I always grabbed the door knob and eased it shut, but this girl just let hers go and "WHAM" every time she came and went. (She was a college student, so she was always coming and going different hours of the day and night.) I had a mirror hanging on the wall of my foyer, and every time she let her door slam, the mirror swung back and forth (that's how hard her door closed). One day I finally went over and asked her politely to please stop letting her door slam as the mirror hanging on my wall fell off and broke. (It didn't really, but she didn't know that.) It worked for me.

in basic terms shop the slamming the doors once you comprehend they're asleep besides, and stop doing all the cleansing for them. No dishes etc. in case you want your music on loud then placed it on LOUD with the aid of fact they for sure do no longer care approximately nerve-racking you, so why must you care approximately nerve-racking them. in basic terms play them at their own interest and that they gets the message ultimately. the assumption above is solid besides. Have a talk alongside with your landlord approximately putting something on the door to stop it slamming.

Leave an anonymous note stating that everytime the close the door, they do so loudly enough that it rattles nearby apartments.

Odds are, they have no idea they slam it like that.

Rather than kicking in the door, why don't you walk over to his door, knock and tell him that when he closes his door it tends to startle you. Then ask him if he could try to be more gentle.

Before thinking, "Man, I am going to choke that S.O.B.", I would think-maybe his door is simply broken, and he will repair it when he gets to it. But for now, bake him a cake, bring it over, and just ask him to stop.

Politely tell them that the little old lady who lives beneath them almost had a heart attack & thought she was being delivered to heaven.

Have you spoken to her in a kindly manner first before trying drastic measures, it would be a suggestion.
