she will gain all the weight she lost and even more back as soon as start eating normal because all she lost is water weight and muscle not fat plus she dramatically slowed down metabolism which will make fat loss in future soooo much harder.
a diet is not a sprint its a way of life.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

The problem with a diet like this is that it is too restrictive. The good thing is the foods she is eating are all healthy. Instead of a diet you want to create a healthy eating life style where you eat healthy meals and don't deny yourself. Eating 5-6 small meals a day has proved to be very effective for most people. By eating like this you remain full and keep your metabolism up. Of course you want to drink plenty of water and exercise regularly. An excellent reference for healthy eating is the GI Diet (don't let the work diet fool you). Look for it in your local bookstore or online.
Hope this answer helps.
Take care,
Lee

Forget weight loss plan I devour like a horse and I handiest weigh 9 stone. This is what works for me: Eat mostly, if viable each 3 hours, while your frame realises that it is getting a consistent deliver of meals it raises it is metabolism, burning energy faster and is far much less prone to retailer energy as fats. When consuming attempt to devour plenty of top protein meals and do not cross too difficult at the carbs. Try cross handy on trans and saturated fat even though you're allowed the strange deal with. Drink plenty of water! At least one gallon consistent with day. Tea, espresso and fizzy beverages are O.K however they don' depend in the direction of your total water consumption. As for recreation I do a little mild weight coaching 4 days per week and cardiovascular (I use a rowing desktop) 2 days per week with one days leisure. There is a natural perception that doing cardiovascular recreation on an empty belly is helping burn energy. This is absolute garbage don't do it. Weight coaching is a well thought as muscle tissues burns plenty of vigor, even even as you sleep. You do not ought to end up Mr/Mrs universe however any fats tissue which you'll convert to muscle tissues is not going to handiest make you appear larger however broaden your metabolism. Getting lots of sleep may be major while looking to construct muscle. Good Luck

To be honest, I would go for this diet too. It might not be as well-rounded in food groups or have as much of a variety as it should be, but I am sure that it will help you shed some weight.
You could probably go for some plain, raw vegetables every day to add some more fiber and nutrients to your diet.

You probably will lose weight but you will get bored and hungry. And you didn't mention how long she kept the weight off. But you are not learning how to eat healthy so you will revert back to your old habits and gain weight again. Try just eating healthy every day.

I guess that's ok. I wouldn't say no bananas because they are full of potassium and one on Friday and Saturday won't hurt..if anything, it'll be good for you.
