It will depend on the department of provider you are going into. The Air Force has the least bodily difficult fundamental coaching. It used to be decades in the past whilst I used to be in, however the toughest facet of fundamental coaching for me used to be the intellectual B.S. they positioned you by way of. It's no longer that it is rough stuff to manage, it is simply that they do a best process of making a global of nit-choosy laws and expectancies, after which significantly bust your chops for no longer complying. Expect to get yelled at plenty, to be worn out all the time, and to have little or no time to your self. You'll see men holiday down and cry due to the fact that they can not manage it. If you have an understanding of that fundamental coaching is only a large sport, and the one technique to win is to comply with the principles, then you'll be able to be pleasant.

learning to listen and pay attention to the details of the orders you are given. Basic training really is an intense effort to instill the need to completely grasp orders and direction quickly.
The endless and seemingly useless inspections are a part of the process. After your locker is torn to absolute pieces enough times for very slight problems with the way you folded your underwear, you learn to listen to the instruction a lot better.

Just getting your mind right and learning to work as a team. Realize that your unit is only as good as the worst man in it. If you are fit, help those that aren't. If you master skills easily, help those that don't.

Not sleeping. I wasn't in great shape when I went, but was alright in the PT. The days are very long and you sleep very little (especially if you draw the mid-watch). But there is a purpose to that, as well.
You'll be fine. Just pay attention and do what they tell you.

Just the mind games, I had no problem with it. Just do what you're told, push yourself, and realize its all a game and basic will be nothing. Just remember, it doesn't last forever. Have fun =)
