All religion is inadequate if it starts from mans attempt to get in good with GOD through their own works.

Such "rituals" are vain WORKS.

GOD so loved the world, that HE gave HIMSELF >>> JESUS.

John 14:6 New King James Version

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

Set aside the Bible and consider other issues of what make it or any church a true religion. They:

Believe in obeying the law, even the inconvenient ones, such as speed limits when late for work;

Believe in paying taxes, even though there are many ways they could avoid them, as many religions do;

Believe in keeping their word, such as to the IRS that they will not promote politics in the church, and they actually mean it;

Teache their youth that waiting until marriage is preferable to using protection, and for the most part, the youths actually believe it....As a result, they have the lowest rates of out-of-wedlock births and STDs....Yes, there is the occasional ones who would rather have their fun now than wait, but there are far more who choose to wait;

Treat their youth with respect, not just "do what you're told!";

Teach their youths side by side with the adults, the Bible as a whole, and not just Bible stories....The very young may not understand what they are being taught, but by the time you reach the age of understanding, they have a good basic knowledge of the scriptures;

Don’t allow their congregations to get so large that the individual gets lost in the crowd and since everyone is taught the same, it is easy to start a new congregation, with a set of elders;

Have members who know all other members, whether in their congregation, their city, or their county....When Katrina happened, they made sure everyone living in New Orleans could be found in Texas, with every individual accounted for;

Believe their Kingdom Halls should compliment a neighborhood, and not overwhelm it, so they are small and don’t include a lot of expensive decorative features....Each Hall can hold up to four congregations;

Encourage all their members to read the whole Bible and submit their thoughts to see whether the religion could be following God’s Word better...for 50 years they used the King James before the NWT;

Don’t pay or elect leading members or governing board....a fisherman or a carpenter can end up on the Governing Board of the Society.

Can have every member, over the age of 12 answer the following question without just referring to a secular holiday in May:
WHAT DAY DO YOU OBSERVE THE MEMORIAL ON?

Any religion that understands the cause of sin, the result of sin, the connection between freedom and morality, etc., is the right one. While I wouldn't go so far as to say that all religions are true, many are equally valid. The aspects that all religions hold in common are universally true. These aspects include the idea of freedom through morality, a belief in the immortality of the soul, etc. Where religions differ, the differences generally center around speculative doctrines (like historical details), philosophical models, or the choice of symbols employed. Most religions consist of the exoteric (rituals, commandments, organizational structure, etc.) and the esoteric (prayer, meditation, etc.). Both sides are designed to operate within specific cultural frameworks, and so vary from one culture or sub-culture to another.

"Invalid" religions are religions that are actually void of religious content. Many fundamentalist denominations, for example, have very little religious content, and have reduced their faith down to a handful of historical assertions mixed with ample doses of pop psychology. Whether or not that model is useful is up for grabs - but it does not function as a religion in the conventional sense.

Religion is worship. We worship whatever is our main concern. For some it is money, TV, fornication. Does that mean it is the right use of our time? I think not.

Proper worship should be of someone greater than us. Some worship celebraties or heroes. Being human, they will always disappoint at some point.

There are, as the Bible says, many gods and many lords. There is one who is the Creator of all. He, above all, deserves our worship. The worship of that Creator would be the right religion.

The Bible has proved to be authored by that Creator, through science, archeology, morality, history and prophecy. No other book has proved correct more times.

In His book, He tells His name--Jehovah (Ps. 83: 18). The true religion would #1, use that name. With any earthly group of people, all know the name of the head of the group and use it regularly. Why should the true religion be any different?

Easy answer....a closed mind does.

I will never understand how any who believes in a loving and benevolent God can accept that supreme being would support only one group and the rest are wrong or misguided. That God would have to say the majority of souls on earth are wrong, regardless of what they believe.

I don't know why it is so hard to view organized religion as a road map to God. There are multiple highways or smaller roads one can take to a destination, but they all get you there. I have faith in a God that just wants us to reach that destination and won't hold what road we took against us.

I also have a HUGE problem believing in a God that would accept/support an evil person who went to church every Sunday, and condemn a good and decent soul who lived his life being good and kind to all. I personally have more faith than that! (And wish I had a copy of Abu Ben Adam on this puter...will come back if I can hunt it down). Back in no time...how did we live w/out Google (that is more of a mystery to me lolol).

Abou Ben Adhem

Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
An angel writing in a book of gold:-
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,
And to the presence in the room he said,
'What writest thou?' The vision raised its head
And with a look made of all sweet accord,
Answered 'The names of those who love the Lord.'
'And is mine one?' said Abou. 'Nay, not so,'
Replied the angel. Abou spoke more low,
But cheerly still; and said,'I pray thee, then,
Write me as one that loves his fellow men.'
The angel wrote, and vanished. The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,
And showed the names whom love of God had blest,
And lo! Ben Adhem's name led all the rest.

Jesus is the only way of salvation because He is the only One who can pay our sin penalty (Romans 6:23). No other religion teaches the depth or seriousness of sin and its consequences. No other religion offers the infinite payment of sin that only Jesus Christ could provide. No other “religious founder” was God become man (John 1:1,14) – the only way an infinite debt could be paid. Jesus had to be God so that He could pay our debt. Jesus had to be man so He could die. Salvation is available only through faith in Jesus Christ! “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

There is pure religion and it is to visit the fatherless and the widows in their affliction and to keep unspotted from the world. I believe that faith in Almighty God who created us and who calls whosoever will to be saved by the blood of the Lamb involves more than religion although practicing pure religion is part of faith in God. Not all religion is pure and not all religion is right. Right religion is pure. The only way to keep oneself unspotted from the world is to be cleansed of sin.

It depends on the person. There is absolutely no such thing as one correct religion for everyone. However, everyone has their own correct path. Mine might not be the same as yours, but mine is the right one for me, and yours is the right one for you.
