I am 5'9, currently 142 pounds. I would love to get down to 135 ( actually I want to be much less) but i will settle at 135. I was wondering if consuming 1750 calories a day for the next 5-6 months would do the trick, i know slow and steady wins the race,. and if i cut back too far i will binge. I also exercise about 30 minutes a day. and sit in front of the computer the remainder of the day.. but dont get me wrong i am active. i do the housework and run and up and down stairs during the day. i am in my early 20's. what do you think of this diet ?

At 5'9 and 142, you are at the perfect weight right now. If I were you, I wouldn't be so concerned with losing weight but just making sure you maintain it. You have to be VERY careful when you start weighing under the "healthy" weight range of 100 pounds for 5 feet plus 5 pounds per inch. (Which means you should be around 145 plus or minus a few pounds). Also, remember that muscle weighs more than fat. I'm sure you have gained muscle with your walking routine. I walk 4 miles a day (1 hour) and weigh more than what I look because of the muscle. Just be careful and stay true to yourself.

your caloric intake looks good, but to lose fat you need to do cardio 30-50min, keep in mind that body starts burning fat only after first 20-30min of cardio, so you cant do it for just 30 min every day. suggested amount actually is 45min 4-6 times a week, so you can do some days 30min and some days 45-50min.

It seems alright, but i say you cut down the calories a little more. if you have confidence in yourself and have enough motivation, you won't binge.
haha yeah i do about 30mins of exercise then sit in front of the computer too.. i kinda have no life lol
