If you throw it around, your weight equals your influence to intimidate. However there are some other issues that have weight too, like which system of weights and measures to use. In the U S of A we use the French Metric system in science endeavors.That is about the only thing the French ever got right. Then the rest of us peons use that system or else the English System , ahem, where distance is based on the length of the King's , er, finger, and mass is based of the size of the Queen's, er, breakfast.

This is for Jay. In the states there is a difference between pounds of mass and pounds of force. However you must convert using the constant gc.

mass * acceleration due to gravity
unless of course you are a loser and live in the states with their horrendously messed up system of units
In countries that use metric:
50kg * 9.81 = weight
mass * g = weight
In messed up countries
100lbs = 100lbs
pounds is mass and weight...........wtf!
