Im going to a LDS (mormon) Blessing... Do I bring a gift and if yes, what kind of gift is appropriate?

I don't think you need to bring a gift. If you want to bring something, just bring a nice card.

It is a short blessing given by the father, who holds the Melchizidek Priesthood. This is done at the beginning of the meeting in the church house and no gifts are required. The father invites the friends who hold the Priesthood to be in the circle where he gives the child a name and a blessing. It is a short simple cerimony.
You may have it confused with a baby shower where small gifts are appropriate and they are held in somones home

Good question. After my friend's had their baby blessed they had a luncheon afterward (many out of state people came) some gifts were given. Think of it like a baby shower, bring an outfit or some other baby-appropriate gift.

I brought a bowl of radishes, thinking the reverend would be pleased. But he was rude, and the blessing was short and barely audible.
I was severely disappointed. I may complain to the temple pastor.
Further, I may email president Hinckley.

It isn't necessary, but nice. If you do bring one, a receiving blanket or booties is good. You don't need to spend a lot of money.
