I dieted, lost alot of weight, and now I eat pretty much whatever I want, and I eat constantly. I also eat mainly junk food, I dont exercise and I really underestimate my calories.
I ve been doing this for about a month and a half now, I eat 1280 calorie every day (counted) and sit on my butt at the computure all day, I havent noticed any weight gain, maby 3 pounds, but I am wondering if maby by so much dieting my metabolism actully sped up? or if I am just denying the weight gain, the scale says I ve gained 7 lb, but I know that is totally not possible, I also have a unhealthy salt intake habit and drink about 8-12 sodas a day, (diet) So that could add up to 5 pounds extra, AM I denying weight gain? or is my metabolism speeding up? if so, will it slow back down??

THANKYOU so much, I am sick with worry.....

When you exercise and diet, your metabolism speeds up, hence looking learner and meaner? However if you go back to the start, how much as in weeks, months did it take for you to loose weight and tone up? It did not happen overnight! Therefore it stands to reason when you stop exercising and eating a healthy diet, your metabolism will slow and you will gain weight. The only problem being, probably not where you had it before and this time around it will be harder to shift.
Far be it for me to point out, but having got to where you want to be leaner and meaner, why go back to where you started, why not just maintain what YOU have achieved?

1280 doesnt sound like a lot of calories unless you are very young or a very small person. That's the average amount of calories a person trying to loose weight takes in.

Its possible you HAVE gained the 7 pounds- but my guess, especially given your salt intake- is that your body is retaining water to maintain the equilibrium in your bloodstream. More water retained = more weight. You might want to consider looking at the colour of your urine. If you're drinking that much soda in a day and your pee is still quite yellow, you are definately retaining water.

And stop drinking so much diet soda. If you want pop, drink ONE can of the real thing. Diet stuff is loaded with chemicals that researchers aren't even sure of the long term effects of. That's taking a risk- people don't take that seriously enough. Drink WATER, and you will maintain your weight and feel healthier- your body will stop retaining it. Cut down on your salt intake.

Good luck!

Yes, it will catch up to you within 3 months. Drink more water, cut out the junk food, don't eat 4 hours before bed, and get more exercise, if just walking thru the mall. Then you should be back to your diet weight within 6 weeks.

You are living in la la land. You will get really really fat. You will become diabetic. You will develop osteoporosis from all the diet soda you are drinking. Your metabolism is not speeding up. You haven't given it a reason to. You sit around all day.

Your problem is that you dieted. You didnt change your way of life. You need to change your lifestyle to keep weight off.
