So there's a great overpass near my house with turtles and frogs and HUGE fish. My roomates want to see if they can catch a turtle or a fish. Would that be considered illegal in the state of Kentucky?

* I think it would be considered a bridge. Its a large road that runs over a stream. The stream runs through my neighborhood and then onto someone's farm property. The side we'd like to fish at is in our neighborhood.

We were planning on finding a way down to the under portion. We just wanted to double check on it first.

do you mean overpass or bridge? either way no its not illegal but I wouldn't do it anyway you risk snapping your rod lifting the fish/turtle up to you and if its on an overpass you risk getting hit by cars so you could but I wouldn't (if its a train bridge, they will not let you)

Don't know. Try getting a leaflet on fishing regulations for your state from either a bait store (or here in Florida you can get them at the auto tag agency). That should list any restrictions like that.... I know here in Fl. you can fish from some bridges, but not others.... *shrug* good luck

The ship's captain is the law so, yes, it's illegal! No cruise ship allows pax to fish off the side. In the past I've seen crew fishing off a service hatch while in port, but I suspect even they were breaking "the law". RJ

I would look at going down along the side to get closer to the water. That way you don't break your line or rod and you don't risk getting hit by a vehicle

I bet it is, roads are county and state property, so they are probly laws against it, but anythings legal till you get caught!
