If god is all powerful, can he create a rock that he cannot lift?

Whether the answer is yes or no, it shows that god is not omnipotent. Perhaps the concept of omnipotence is a contradiction?

I don't read Yahoo answers all the time. I don't really know what other people are asking.

In the Bible, God is fittingly described as omnipotent and omniscient

The Almighty and all-knowing God is indeed omnipotent, and he is omniscient in the sense that nothing can be hidden from him. It is true that no one has greater power than God. That is why we refer to him as the all-powerful One, the omnipotent One. He rightly applies the title “Almighty” to himself. (Genesis 17:1)

So we should show him honor because of his qualities:
He is omnipotent, infinite in power; he is omniscient, infinite in wisdom; he is absolutely perfect in justice; and he is the very embodiment of love.
Job 37:23; Proverbs 3:19; Daniel 4:37; 1 John 4:8.

These are supported in the Bible at:
Hebrews 4:13, Rev 11:17
