I travel through Flushing, Queens, which has a great Asian population. Now and then I hear Koreans (I think) talking to each other using a word that sounds like our "N" word. It might be "nega" or "negger" or something like that. I think it's a legitimate Korean word and they're not trying to talk about anyone behind their back!
What is this word, how is it spelled, and what does it mean, please?

Thanks for all your answers! I didn't think it was an insult word. Now I have a good idea that they're saying "I am" or "you are". As for the best answer, I might let you guys pick it!
