Yes. I have an ex-wife. I am married now and have been for 21 years. My ex-wife I no longer even think about except when questions like this show up. If I no longer even think about her, how can I love her? Her dad didn't like me and after two and a half years of marriage, her dad convinced her to leave.

She is now a non-factor in my life and in my thoughts. There is no emotion for her in me, let alone love. So, yes, you can stop loving someone. I presume she did as well.

If it was really love, which I have experienced only once, I think we never stop loving them. He will always hold a special place in my heart. I am not 'in-love' with him but I still love him.

If it is only lust or infatuation than it is likely that you will move on. In time, you will be able to see objectively just what kind of feelings you really had for that person that you mistook for love.

I believe that it is possible to destroy the love that you had for someone. If you are hurt enough by that person, we will eventually walk away.

I think so because if the person you love, does something really big! like one time my ex got my BEST friend pregnate. Theyt now have 4 children and I stopped, it took me a while but I stopped. I ended up getting a new boyfriend and he promised me that he would never do what my ex did and sure enough, I am engaged and pragnate.

Nice question ..

if Love starts .. you can not stop it .. as it is out of your hands ..

If anybody says he/ she can stop it ..
then it was not love .. may be anything else but love .. love is not by your own self concience ..
so if you can stop loving someone .. sure you can start and make ur self love someone ??!!!

Love is out of your hand... you can not say i will love this one .. or i will hate them ..

Love is the gift .. so accept it .. Love is your gift.. Even if will not work .. it will be still there .. cause you can always have the ability for love ..

Have a great day ..
Enjoy your life ..
Good luck ..
.

I don't think so. Once you love somebody that love never goes away, it may change into a different kind of love, but it doesn't disappear.

When you have put your heart, love and emotion into loving a person, it's pretty close to impossible to move on and forget them, because of the impact they made.

yes you can. I have thought I loved someone more than once and I never taught I was going to get over them and that my world was finished. Well life do go on and time do heal, so dont give up yet someone else will sweep you off your feet....

No,

but its not like you go around being in love with them, they just happen to pop in your head every once and a while and you remember the love you had and then love them for the memories they gave you with them.

yes, you can. you can stop having love feelings for someone but still consider the person as a friend or less.

i believe that it depends. if the person did some thing really wrong to you that made you so miserable and unhappy, then you can stop loving someone. but i also believe that some people still love their ex's after they dumped them or being dumped. so it depends.... this helps!

Um... that's tough, but I don't think so. Even if you say you stop loving someone (anyone at all), deep down, you know you love them. + that feeling is forever <<3
