wave caps; so i'm really interested in just changing the texture of my hair, because waking up in the mornings for school is horrible enough and then to do my hair. come september for the new school year i'm looking to find a way to change my hair texture. my hair is all natural and the texture is hard to maintain. i have a nice length to it, but i want to change the texture to wavy or so, cause the texture now just limits my hair style and what i can do with it. i really can't take thee' chemicals in my hair most times. But yes, wave caps, will that help? Or anyone know what exactly i could do in order to get my hair the way i'd like it to be? cause this is just too much.

Wave caps will not change the texture of your hair but it if u are trying to get waves it does help to make them more visible by laying your hair down and it protects your pattern when you sleep. The only natural way to change your texture and develop waves is to brush 45-90 minutes a day. There are many products and waving methods out there and you will find the best of them on this site. http://360waves.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=3875

If you want to cheat and use a texturizing kit just know that it could really mess your hair up by making it too straight or possibly make your hair fall out at an early age. If you use it right the results should be instant and it cost no more than $4 but the waves aren't going to look exactly the same as it would if you took the time to brush and get your waves spinnin the natural way. IT IS ALSO NOT PERMANENT!! You can find an s-curl texturizing kit in just about any store in the beauty section. Good luck.

It won't be damaged but it won't get curly either.... It will just look like a unstyled, rough looking fro. A MESS. So don't play yourself.... Girls of other races can do that because they have a thinner texture of hair and they put products on it like sea salt to make it wavy. Our hair does not do that. That's just the way it is, and you have to accept it. If your hair is natural (no relaxers) then there's some products you can put on it to bring out your natural wave pattern (like Carol's Daughter products) If you've relaxed it, then you wanted it straight so wear it straight.

changing the texture of your hair from really curly to just wavy? you could get a soft curl perm, but that has much chemicals. anyways, big hair is totally in and a lot of people envy those with the unruly big hair....how tight are your curls? because wave caps make the waves visible but for long hair it makes it look matted down. guys with short curly hair can make their waves visible and look nice but i don't think girls do. what about cornrows?...anyways, you could one day use a head band or long thick string and wrap it around your hair to get that aztec goddess warrior look. its very easy to do. i think it looks cute, and with the right clothes, very urban and stylish

If your Black / African American, the best thing to do would to put a light texurizer in your hair that way it would make it slightly curly / wavy... and texurizer gives the look that your hair is always wet..... Is your hair long enought to briad becasue if it's to your neck dont put chemicals just keep it braided cuz it will look as if you have a jerry curl LOL
