You hit it on the nail there!
Nobody with an IQ of over 25 could actually believe in this primitive garbage:
God creating the universe in about a week some 6,000 years ago;
Noah building a ship so large that it could fit the entire population of the animal kingdom within its hulk.
There must be an ulterior motive for people to say they believe in this rhubarb and that motive must be so that they can gain access to young and impressionable children.

Horrible! But does THIS represents Christianity to you?
There are thousands upon thousand of followers of Mother Theresa in many Christian and none Christian religious communities around the world. Have you notice them???

I'm a Catholic and I'm sorry.
I know people who have been personally touched by this tragedy. This is not Christianity, this is evil and "Pope" John Paul II should never become a saint because of what he allowed under his watch. As a Catholic, I apologize for the Catholics out there.
The problem with priests is that often times they go to seminary and are taught how great they are and are not allowed to marry or do anything except related to "the Holy Church." People may call me a heretic but I can recall no verse in the Bible that refers specifically to "going to Church" (yeah some people use the Bible to hate on gays but it also says but the same book, Leviticus, a part of the Jewish Torah says Ten Commandments style: "Thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed...neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee. And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to her husband...she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death...." and a host of other things, referring to stoning children who bad-mouth their parents (as they'd be defined today) and such.
Basically it's saying that if you are an adulterer you should be whipped. Is that gonna work in today's society? Clearly not. However, love thy neighbor works pretty well in my opinion. There is no verse in the Bible specifically referring to Jesus that said literally "go to Church." The closest thing I can find is "spread my word" at the end. In all this Revelation crap about the Antichrist, Jesus himself said "no one will know the hour so you must watch like a thief in the night" (not a direct quote however it is in the New Testament and any Christian who's been to Church should know this if they've been paying attention.
Islam is slightly more intellectual than Christianity and Buddha is based more on peace. However, as a Catholic and history lover (and major), I grew up self-loathing a little (all Catholics do) and so, yeah, don't blame all Catholics. We're good people, and we can be married and we will not rape children. You gotta joke about it, it's sad.

No, it is not the purpose of Christianity but the evil doing of some who have gone astray. The question is whether these religious figures were saved Christians in the first place. If they were, they have committed great sin and will answer to God. It is so easy to point fingers when tragedy happens all the while being drawn deeper into the world, believing things we see and hear. Oh, I'm not saying this didn't happen. It probably did. It is sad though that we tend to focus on the few bad things, ready to pass quick judgement and not looking upon God.

"her purpose" ? Um backwards evil is the male ingredient of "God" The darkness, which could live for there to be gentle. "God" is both male and woman. yin & yang. If one seems by heritage, one will locate that the female is the nurturing ingredient, the love of "god", male is the chaotic, violent ingredient. There are extra infant molesters, extra serial sadists that are men, than women through a suggestions! in basic terms look at a male detention center compared to a lady one. way fewer occurrences of rape or violence, even interior the deviants of society.

No, the church is just full of imperfect people, sort of like Yahoo Answers.
And I usually hesitate to quote scripture around here but...
"And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
"Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come! (Mat 18:5-7)

More sites for my religious history library! Thank you!!! Even though the true disciples and followers of the true leader of "Christianity" would never have been found guilty of such atrocities and worst gotten away with it for centuries! Thank again for caring enough to share these often inconvenient truths!

I think that this a sickening reflection of religion in this age. My church (The Holy Roman Catholic) is the worst offender in this aspect, yes it reduces my faith in the Fathers but not in the faith itself. You are very right in asking this question. Priests and vicars are not to be trusted any longer. A sad but true fact.

What a stupid question.
My dear Robert S - you are completely wrong. It is YOUR ilk that condemns people to hell, not the Catholics. And the Protestants have more than their fair share of molestations - did you happen to miss the 20/20 special?
