Yes, Jehovah's Witnesses generally celebrate weddings.

Since Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians, they work to imitate Christ Jesus. Of course, the bible teaches that Jesus joined in and assisted with at least one wedding celebration.

(John 2:1-2) a marriage feast took place in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the marriage feast.

Yes, they do. I was invited to one once. They celebrated exactly the same as other people. The bride wore a wedding gown, there were bridesmaids, etc. There was someone who officiated, in this case an elder of the JW congregation, there was some preaching and praying, and they had food, cake, music and dancing, and even a money dance. There were tons of wedding gifts. The bride and groom went on a honeymoon.

of course we do. didn't Jesus go to a wedding and turn water into wine. you hardly hear of Jehovah Witnesses divorces. many will have parties and invite the friends and families. just like anyone else does. they would have an Elder marry them. we do except gifts at the wedding. www.watchtower.org

Yes we have weddings and have receptions afterwards but the size and location of those events depend on the soon-to-be-husband and wife.

Some choose to have simplier ceremonies and gatherings while others might be more elaborate. It depends on the couple and the amount of $$ they desire to spend. We also have wedding showers and present gifts at the reception to the couple.

Yes we do. Marriage is a joyful occurrence and an arrangement of God. It is a cause for celebration. We also celebrate our wedding anniversaries.

Jesus set the pace...his first miracle was at a wedding where he turned water to wine after all the attendees were drunk he made the very best wine at the request of his mother.
God instituted a marriage between Adam and Eve....He also talks about the ten virgins going to the wedding feast.

Indeed they do!!! Wedding anniversaries are a veritable feat these days with the divorce rate but even it weren't for that, what is wrong with celebrating a wedding anniversary? It's once a year and is a true thing, nothing to do with ancient pagan worship or any such thing!!!

I assume you meant anniversaries, but let's stick with the wedding part.

Witness weddings are not the elaborate affairs you see in Christendom. They are generally a come all affair and bring food. Children are welcome as it is an education of the importance of marriage to them. Receptions are potluck and anyone who plays brings their instruments. No booze, so no drunken bouts.

Yes. They celebrate their anniversaries as well.

Most of the weddings are HUGE because they know so many people.
