Uncooked, (or raw) is NOT always the better choice. I will send along some further info, but though carrots lose some of their vitamin C when cooked, the carrots antioxidant properties are actually greater when cooked.

They are both healthy for different reasons. When you eat a carrot raw, it has some nutrients that you don't get when you cook a carrot. But when you cook carrots, you get a few nutrients that are not in raw carrots. Both are healthy for you! I say eat both cooked and uncooked veggies!

They say cooked are because raw carrots do not get broken down enough going right through you.

Carrots can be eaten raw or cooked, but to obtain maximum benefit it is best to eat them raw.

Oftentimes, raw veggies are more nutritious than their cooked counterparts. When you cook veggies, some of the nutrients break down.
