It's possible that there could be latex or other chemical in the seat that you could be reacting to. Or if they cleaned it with a chemical that you are sensitive to and didn't rinse if effectively.

If there's latex in the seat and the person has a latex sensitivity, I could see this happen.

You could if you're allergic to a compound in the covering or padding.
