The Seven Deadly Sins never occur as a formal list in the Bible. Some people say they can all be found in Matthew's Gospel (chapters 5 through 7), but they are not in a simple list there. Others submit Proverbs 6:16-19, but this is a different list, covering pride, lies, murder, evil plans, swiftness in sin, lies again, causing conflict. Clearly not the same.
These sins were identified as a group around the same time as the Bible was being translated into a single language. Rather than these sins being identified in a single place in the Bible, they are found all through it, from Genesis to Revelation. The letters of the New Testament mention all of these, and many others as well.

The bible lists ten commandments, but not seven deadly sins. The Roman Catholic Church lists seven deadly sins.
Here is a pretty good basis for life:
'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.
(Matthew 22:37-39)

So where are the seven deadly sins today:
Lust (Latin, luxuria)
Lust is the basis of most advertising and much of industry
Gluttony (Latin, gula)
Where would McDonnell's be with out it!
Greed (Latin, avaritia)
Scripted in the '80s as a sin and now a virtue
Sloth (Latin, acedia)
Used car sales men would be most upset if anyone took notice of this.
Wrath (Latin, ira)
Bang goes all those Hollywood films
Envy (Latin, invidia)
Well that's advertising done away with and with it the bedrock of capitalism
Pride (Latin, superbia)
I'm scrapping this as a sin because Iv always taken pride in my work.
So if we did avoid the seven deadly sins the whole of the worlds ecconimy would collapse
And now for the 10 commandments:
"I am the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before Me..."
"Do not make a sculpted image or any likeness of what is in the heavens above..."
"Do not swear falsely by the name of the LORD..."
"Remember [zachor] the Sabbath day and keep it holy" (the version in Deuteronomy reads shamor, "observe")
Well, all those are to do with a God. Being an atheist they are a bit irrelevant. Do like a day off a week though
"Honor your father and your mother..."
Yes thats a good one - although I felt I earnt it from my children and if I didn't then why give it?
"Do not murder"
Yep - go with this one. Although there seems to be a controvicy about this. Read Wilfred Owen's Poems. Is it that we must not kill, tricky.
"Do not commit adultery."
Well if this one is up-held then a very large number or people would be up aganst the wall. Good guide though
"Do not steal."
Good one.
"Do not bear false witness against your neighbor"
Should not 'bear false witness against' against anyone. After all Jesus himself called into question who we should class as our neighbours. This is especually true of the English with their view of the French
"Do not covet your neighbor's house"
Well if i have one of my own then why would I bother with hers
So 5 out of 10 is not bad. At least they will not bring the world to a holt.

The 10 commandments were given to Moses by God so I would say that is the basis for me.
The 7 deadly sins are true so that is good enough for me.
They relate to humankind and nothing else
So if we exist, they exist
they were not mentioned in the order as we know them but they were already there
Take Sloth-in Proverbs it says-:- Look at the ant you sluggard, take heed from her and be wise-
Sloth

Not only the 10 commandments but only Christ should be the base of our lives. All sins are infact deadly and can lead you away from Christ. This will cause eternal death, should you not repent.

How to treat others:
with love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, self control, mildness
Jesus came to tell us the 10 commandments were summed up in just 2 commandments
#1 Love Jehovah your God with your whole heart, soul, mind and strength
#2 Love your neighbor as yourself
Jesus came to earth to die for us....and he gave us a new command..to love one another for it is the perfect bond of union.
Your basis for life is your faith in Jehovah. To get this faith you must learn all about God.
To endure this life and come off victorious you need to put on the complete suit of armor to ward off the devil.
