1 teaspoon full

50 lb divided by 2.2 = 23 kg
0.5 mg/kg x 23 kg = 11.5 mg or ~12 mg
12 mg = 5 ml = 1 teaspoon

Children's analgesic dose is 0.5-1 mg codeine/kg/dose every 4-6 hours. The suspension (Capital® and Codeine) contains acetaminophen 120 mg and codeine phosphate 12 mg per 5 mL, please make sure that this is the concentration you are using. Always check with your doctor before giving your child medication
