Nothing against athiests, since my very close friend is one. But she's always like 'well, prove God is real'. And I may not have 'scientific proof' that he's there, but she can't exactly prove that he's NOT there. So, I dunno, maybe I'm just looking for opinions on it? (I really don't wanna start a debate or anything, so please, be civil about it) Thank you!

Remember how salvation comes to a person. It isn't through proof is it? Nope! Salvation come by God's grace though FAITH. If there was proof then faith would not be available and therefore no one could be saved, right? So thank God that He has given us faith. As for the hard headed people among us there is STRONG scientific evidence. Not one of the Atheist here has been able to say more to than "that's the way life was structured".. They never say why it is so specific. Email me and I'll tell you more about it.. Be ready though because it is very scientific... Jim

God is like love, can't be proven scientifically. Can only be experienced. That answer won't satisfy most athiests but most of them don't believe love is just electrical signals in the brain, or that it can be measured with scientific instruments. The problem is the debate has to be about our feelings which are rejected as a legitimate sensory input into our consciousness. The legalistic argument will go on forever with no resolution, but people will love and find God as they always have done

This is an age-old thing between scientists (yes, and athiests) and religion. Faith is not a science because it deals with beliefs. It's one thing to have faith in science because it's all proven, but it's quite another to have faith in something or someone that nobody has ever seen (and lived to tell about it).

My only response to the "prove God exists" statement is simply "Look around you". Science says that the "Big Bang" was caused by 2 electrons (or whatever they were) smashing into each other and from that, the universe began. My question to those scientists is "How did those 2 electrons come into being?" My own personal theory answers that with "God".....therefore, I believe. Simple, isn't it? :-)

Dear emily,

It is the responsibility of the person making the positive claim to provide the proof (or at least evidence). Disproving something that has not been proven in the first place is ridiculous. Try disproving the invisible pink unicorn that lives in my garage. You can't. So does this mean that you should therefore believe in it? It would be my responsibility to prove to you such a creature exists if I want you to believe in it.

Regards,

CC

Tell her a few facts and see how she handles it such as, God is Love, Life, Truth, Spirit, Soul. Ask her, if God doesn't exist, then what are these attributes? Ask about the little voice within her that guides her if she listens. She may begin to see things in a different light, or she may not be ready yet.

The burden of proof is on you. Asking her to prove that god does not exist is like asking to prove magic pink flying unicorns don't exist. Science is about evidence and repeatable experiments that demonstrate the evidence. Since there is no evidence, proof, or repeatable experiments that show there is a god, then it is logical to know that there are no gods.

tell her this..

you : just now i see a tree beside a road.. suddenly the tree becomes planks and well-arranged into a a beautiful wooden house by itself..even I can live there happily..

when she said its ridiculous and impossible for the tree to turn itself into such a beautiful house, tell this :

you : well you don't believe the tree will turns itself into plank and become a house by itself but how could you believe our beautiful world is made by itself...there must be someone that created our beautiful world that is our Lord, God...

* this is my religion, okay..
this is told long time ago by a very good religious man to atheists..those atheists said there was no god and those above was the good man's saying*

She's abnormal... No thinking atheist will ever say that unless in response to the equally illogical: "Prove there's *no* God."

GODS, etc. can NEITHER BE PROVEN NOR DISPROVEN! (Prove/Disprove there's (no): Ra... Voodoo... Gnomes... Odin... Ahriman... Faeries... ... Just CANNOT logically be done.) But...

There is *NO Evidence* for any of humanities Gods. None. Zip.
IN SCIENCE, "proof" is nothing, EVIDENCE IS EVERYTHING.
Why don't you believe in Ra, Odin, Zeus, Nessie and the FSM?
( *Same reason* for her rejecting your God(s)… Questions? )

There are an infinite number of things that can't be confirmed. In fact, anything that doesn't exist, cannot be proven not to exist, provided you specify that it exists "outside of physics" or some such caveat.

As a former atheist, this one helped me understand
1 John 4
12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
