i have noticed that on religion questions people are talking about puffins and penguins, what are they, why are they using birds for their names?

They're warring factions. Winged and dangerous. The penguin is jealous of the puffin because the puffin can fly through the air and the puffin in jealous of the penguin because he can fly underwater.

You're right -- it's like understanding why the sunni's and shias hate each other.

Penguin is the name sometimes applied to Catholic Nuns due to their black and white habits, making them look a little like the colour patterns of penguins.........but don't know about the name Puffin and what it refers to.

I don't have the answer, but I wondered that too! These birds both swim underwater . . . does that have anything to do with it??
