De La Hoya was out classed, and was givin too many rounds, I don't want to see a rematch.

I am not a fan of either Mayweather or De La Hoya. I watched the fight and I actually think that DLH should have gotten favor in the split decision. There were 5 or 6 rounds where Mayweather just sat back and threw an occasional punch while DLH was punching all over the place. Even if some punches are blocked, it's too difficult for the judges to see it happen. Aside from that half of the fight, I think DLH took two more rounds, even though they were fairly close. The judges gave too much slack to Mayweather because when he actually did punch, most of them were power punches. Normally, I would be fine with that scoring, but it seems that the judges gave Mayweather a few rounds even though he had landed less than half of the punches DLH did, all because of the power punch factor. When it's that lopsided, you should score for the more frequent puncher. What it boils down to is this: would you rather get hit in the face by two hooks, or get hit in the chest by one haymaker? I don't know about most of you, but I'd take the haymaker.
Even though Mayweather decided to hurry up and retire last night, he shouldn't back down from a rematch if the opportunity arises. I think that what he did after the fight is deplorable for boxers everywhere. His ********* will not be missed by me.

After 8 rds I actually had Oscar ahead by two pts 77-75. It's the 9th round until the final bell that ODLH seems to misplace his JAB. PBF takes the 9th and 10th making the fight even going into the "CHAMPIONSHIP" rounds. I gave both the 11th and 12th (final round) to Mayweather. So, my final score was 115-113 for Floyd.
When I watched it again on HBO's Replay, I came out with the same score as I did from watching the PPV, however, I feel more at ease because it was clear that PBF was landing more accurate punches and his defense was causing Oscar to miss quite a bit, despite the crowds reaction.
Thus, in regards to your question, seeing as the fighter who I feel won was awarded the victory I'd say it was fair. However, it completely stuns me to see that two of the three judges gave the 12th rd to Oscar. That is unbelievable, Oscar did nothing for the first 2 minutes and 20 seconds of the round except be a target for PBF. Suddenly with 40 seconds left he (Oscar) shows some life and starts to press an offense. While he did this, PBF just didn't stand there, he responded as well. How a fighter can get the nod for doing 20 seconds worth of fighting in a 3minute round (KD or KO excluded) is beyond me.
PBF said he wants a rematch to quiet all the skeptics. I say Oscar if you need the cash then go for it, but the result will be the same. Not as close though.

Look back through my answers the last few days. I called it almost exactly the way it happened. I said unanimous decision and it was a split... which leads me to ask, what the Hell damn fight was judge Tom Kaczmarek watching? He should be fired. Mayweather masterfully took De La Hoya apart. De La Hoya moves up in weight, gets whooped by Hopkins, then he moves down in weight, fighting a guy who is not even big enough to fight at Jr. Mid... and STILL gets whooped. Why is this guy fighting? Why does De La Hoya have any fans? How could anyone even JOKINGLY say De La Hoya won? How does Tom Kaczmarek get to be a judge because he appartently don't know #&*%? Oh well, it was a fun fight to watch, to all the Mayweather haters, now you are forced to admit he is the best boxer out there right now. The dude talks trash, but it is no longer trash after he proves he can back it up. I hope you are loving it, because I am.

It was that close, and it was not an unfair decision. De La Hoya was more aggressive and pressed Mayweather through most of the rounds, but Mayweather was faster, more slippery and landed more punches. De La Hoya would have won had he landed more in the later rounds. The 115-113 score of judge Chuck Giambra sounds about right.

i think of the hardcore Mexican Boxing followers will root for Manny. as much as they hate him, they appreciate him lots. Manny has in no way trash talked any of them and has continuously got here into the suited waiting to offer a prepare. Mexican followers are fairly respectful to combatants that do this. additionally, the genuine boxing followers, no be counted what race they're must be observing Hoya thinking, "why the hell is he combating somebody this small." i replaced into relatively particularly annoyed this combat replaced into made, Manny is shifting as much as Welter to combat a guy who might come into the hoop at one hundred sixty pounds. Im a extensive Manny fan, yet all of us with ring adventure or has watched a good number of boxing is time-honored with of that Hoya ought to run by him. this may well be a lose lose subject imo for Hoya. If does something much less then KO Manny early in the combat, he loses. If Manny a manner or the different wins, then that imo would be one between the suited wins of this era.

Real boxing boxing fans are only interested in fights where someone would kiss the canvass. After the "Big" fight, both the boxer's face are clean. They didn't pour their hearts out
to knock one another. They are not the real gladiators of the ring, so it might as well be a draw!
Big money fights like that should have been fought for 16 rounds, till someone kiss the canvass, then the viewers will
get their money's worth. =)

I seriously think there should be a re-match!
(I watched the whole fight and it did not look like either won. It was like a tie. Mayweather's punches were accurate but De La Hoya threw more punches.)

Definitely a draw in my book...Floyd's a coward, DLH represented himself pretty well but it's hard when you're fighting the invisible man in the ring...Maywhether did NOTHING to be worthy of winning that fight...I hope Floyd satys in the game and fights Cotto, who I believe would tear pretty panties Floyd a new one...
