Oh, for God's sake does everyone here make up their answers?

Transfer from the E train to the downtown 6 train at 51st Street in Manhattan. Then transfer to the downtown 4 or 5 across the platform at 42d Street and take that to Bowling Green. Battery Park is across the street.

If you want to go to northern battery park, take the E to the end (World Trade Center), otherwise, take the E to 42nd St./Times Square, and transfer to the 1. Then take that to the end (South Ferry) which lets you out near the Staten Island and Liberty Island ferries. Make sure you board towards the front of the train if you transfer to the 1, because only the first 4 (or maybe 5) cars platform there.

The 1 train leaves you right at the doorstep of Battery Park. It's the last stop.

Take E to the end (World Trade Center/Chambers St.) and walk southwest from there.

Battery Park is kind of big...if you are going to the southern end, the 4/5 or 1 train would be closer, but the transfer is also going to take a while.
